Taos Ski Valley is located in the rugged Sangre de Cristo Mountains at the start of the Rocky Mountains. Originally an old west mining town established in the 1800s, today it’s a world-class ski destination like no other in the world. It resembles a European ski village but the core is pure New Mexican—all smiles and sunshine. This is a unique destination that many of your ski friends have yet to experience, but a place that every skier should have on their list! One of the great reasons to go on this trip is the chance to participate in the world famous Taos Ski Week program. Skiing six days with the same instructor for one low price is a fabulous opportunity to sharpen your skills on- or off-piste. Groups are matched by ability on the first day, and the discounted advance purchase rate of $385 includes six days of 2.5 hour, small-group lessons in the mornings. This is an IKON resort; the full IKON provides seven days of skiing, and the Base Plus pass provides five days of skiing. The Base Pass is not accepted.

We are staying in the Snakedance Condominiums, which is right next to the main lift. The two-bedroom condos have microwaves, stoves, refrigerators, satellite TV, and Wi-Fi. There are ski lockers on the second floor leading out to the snow, and there are washers and dryers available. The town of Taos is 19 miles down the road, with small villages in between. Both artists and visitors are inspired by the blending of desert beauty, ancient communities, and mountain vistas – a place for seclusion, fun and exploration!
