SKI AND RIDE

Gotta Ski...

The passion for skiing that compelled our first members to organize more than 50 years ago, endures with our current membership.  While on-snow sports have evolved to include snowboarding, snow blading and skiing with all sorts of shapes and sizes of skis, the thrill of strapping something to our feet and launching ourselves down a snow covered slope is why KOPSC continues to thrive all these years later.

We typically operate four week long western ski trips, three weekend eastern ski trips and a day trip to local resort each season.  Recently, we have added a cross country ski weekend to our portfolio of trips.

Our western destinations vary from year to year but include popular resorts such as Vail, Aspen/Snowmass, Telluride, Park City, Sun Valley, Whistler/Blackcomb and others, as well as lesser known resorts for the more adventurous, such as Whitefish, Fernie, Red Mountain, Schweitzer, Revelstoke and Sun Peaks.  Similarly our eastern trips vary from year to year, but include a variety of resorts such as Killington, Stowe, Sugarbush, Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Jay Peak, Greek Peak, Gore and Belleayre to name some of our more recent and popular trips.  It has been a long standing tradition for KOPSC to run a Friday bus trip to Elk Mountain.  Affectionately, we call this our Mental Health Day because everyone needs a day off from the grind of the workplace to get out and ski or ride.  Finally, last season, we ran our first cross country ski weekend.  It was an overwhelming success, so we are planning another for this season.  Check out our Ski Trips page for all our current year ski season trips.  It is our goal to provide “best value” ski trips.

In addition to our ski trips, as a member of KOPSC you are entitled to take advantage of the Eastern Pennsylvania Ski Council (EPSC) Learn to Ski program, discount lift ticket program and Council Cup Race Day.  The Learn to Ski program provides free ski and snowboard lessons on Monday nights at Spring Mountain.  Discount lift tickets can be purchased for most local, New York and New England ski resorts through EPSC.  The Council Cup Race Day is simply a fun inexpensive day for skiers and boarders of all levels and is held at a local ski resort.  Teams from EPSC member clubs compete for the coveted Council Cup trophies.

Whether you are seasoned racer or don’t know what a ski gate is, you can join in the fun.  See our Ski Meister page for more details on all these EPSC sponsored programs.

So, get out and ski or ride with us!
